Farmers Equipment Company Established 1935
Farmers Equipment Company was established in Lynden, Washington on April 25, 1935 as a partnership between, Simon L. Stremler and local businessman and entrepreneur, E.J. “Ed” Frith. In The course of 80 years, the company has employed hundreds of people and served thousands of customers, most of them farmers. The business began as a dealer for McCormick-Deering, a line of tractors produced by International Harvester Corporation. Gradually, we came to stock all of International Harvester’s agricultural lines, including Farmall tractors. With the merger of Case and International Harvester in 1985, we became the Case IH dealer for Northwest Washington. Over the years, Farmers Equipment Company has grown to become a leader in sales and support of agricultural, berry, material handling and construction machinery for Northwest Washington and the Lower Mainland of British Columbia. To better serve our customers in the Skagit Valley, we added our Burlington, Washington branch in 1982.We are proud of our heritage and the role that we have played in helping to shape the communities where we live and work. As we look to the future, our vision is to be the best-in-class industry leader in all the markets we serve while helping our customers strengthen their performance, provide our staff members with a great place to work, and to be known and viewed as significantly improving our community. As our economy has become more diverse, we have altered our product mix to meet the needs of our customers. That’s why in addition to Case IH we are the dealer for Komatsu forklifts, Oxbo berry harvesters, Branson Tractors, Bauer Irrigation equipment and Kobelco construction equipment. We also represent a number of very fine shortlines like Kuhn, Kuhn Knight, Krone, Maschio, Brillion, Wil-Rich and J&M Manufacturing. |
